QA Engineer
QA Engineer | Bucharest | 2-4 years experience
We are looking for a new addition to our Software Development team; the ideal person is a QA Tester (Manual/Automation) who is passionate about software testing and technology.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for analyzing our projects, identifying bugs, recognizing design flaws, and documenting clear steps to resolve them.
Rather than just performing standard QA tasks, you’ll bring a proactive approach to uncover bugs and contribute valuable insights to enhance the overall product quality.
- Strong knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes
- Minimum 2 years of experience in software quality assurance
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing phases, and effective test case design
- Experience testing web and mobile applications, including REST APIs
- Familiarity with defect management and bug-tracking tools
- Experience with test frameworks, build systems, and continuous integration (CI) environments
- Ability to write SQL queries and work with SQL databases
- Strong communication skills to explain technical issues and solutions clearly
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Well-organized with an analytical mindset and strong task management skills
- Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, or SVN is a plus
- ISTQB or similar certification is an advantage but not mandatory
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is a plus
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English
- Identify areas for improvement and continuously develop efficient and innovative testing methods to address potential gaps in the testing strategy
- Create and implement test plans and procedures to ensure accurate testing of software features and modules, meeting project objectives
- Collaborate with Development and Project Management teams to optimize workflows and maintain the quality of new features and releases
- Define test requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios throughout the product development lifecycle
- Estimate time and effort for assigned tasks and provide accurate assessments
- Identify, document, and report defects, determining their severity and priority
- Analyze test results, detect patterns, troubleshoot issues, and prepare detailed reports
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents
- Provide constructive feedback to improve product quality
- Verify bugs and act as a liaison between developers and customers during resolution
- Execute test plans and clearly communicate findings related to bugs, risks, and overall product quality
- Develop a solid understanding of intellectual property, company products, and customer solutions
- Track defects, confirm fixes, close cases, and escalate issues when necessary while documenting resolution progress
