VASTINT App Development for a blood donation campaign
The ZONKWAVE team is committed not only to technological innovation, but also to active involvement in the community. We developed an appointment scheduling application and used it ourselves to book donation slots.
During the Christmas holiday season, we were also delighted to take part in the blood donation campaign organized by Digi 24, alongside our colleagues and partners.
Through this initiative, we contributed to saving lives and supporting the national healthcare system by encouraging innovation and improving accessibility. This is just one of the many initiatives through which we strive to make a positive impact on society. We strongly encourage active participation in social causes and believe that such actions can bring about real change.
Blood Donation Campaign – “A Drop of Hope”
Vastint Romania, in partnership with Digi Group (Digi24, Digi FM, and ProFM), is organizing the third edition of the national campaign “We Have the Same Blood” titled “A Drop of Hope.”
This year, the blood donation session took place at Business Garden Bucharest, where more than 60 donors were warmly welcomed.
Donors always receive a medical check-up prior to donation, including blood tests for hemoglobin, glucose levels, blood type, and Rh factor. After donation, the collected blood is analyzed by specialists, and results can be collected within three working days.
Additionally, upon request, donors may receive a full set of biochemical tests free of charge once per year.
Online Appointment Application
In December 2023, we had the opportunity and pleasure to develop a dedicated web-based scheduling application for this project.
This innovative solution simplifies the donation process and supports the “We Have the Same Blood” campaign. Developed in record time by our team, the application allows users to quickly and easily schedule their donation, while also optimizing logistics and improving campaign organization.
Donors can select convenient time slots, receive notifications, and benefit from reminders to ensure timely attendance.

Our Involvement
“We Have the Same Blood” is the largest and most ambitious national project launched by a news television channel in support of patients. Initiated by Digi24 on December 1, 2022, the project has mobilized 4,995 donors across 22 counties so far.
Our colleagues Alina, Claudiu, and Alexandra joined the campaign by donating blood at the mobile center in Business Garden Bucharest. The experience was especially meaningful, as it took place during the Christmas holidays.
Save 3 Lives
A single blood donation can save up to three lives.
Blood donation is a voluntary act in which a person gives a quantity of blood for medical purposes, such as saving lives or treating patients who require transfusions.
Donated blood is essential in:
- surgical procedures
- cancer treatments
- severe accidents
- serious anemia
- other critical medical situations
It is vital for maintaining adequate hospital supplies and directly supports patients in urgent need of transfusions. This simple and generous act can save lives and aid in patient recovery.
Direct Benefits of Blood Donation
Regular blood donation helps refresh the blood and strengthen the immune system, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It also contributes to balancing triglyceride and cholesterol levels and has a positive impact on liver health. Additionally, a single donation can burn approximately 650 calories.
Donors may also develop increased resistance to hemorrhagic shock. For individuals with excess iron levels, regular donation helps regulate iron in the blood, further reducing cardiovascular risks.
